MOLA was asked to undertake a Heritage Statement for Hounds Gate House in Nottingham, ahead of its conversion into residential apartments. The impact on the building, situated in a Conservation Area, was assessed by our heritage consultants, and a Fabric Audit and Design and Access Statement completed.

We established that no further investigation of the building was needed ahead of its redevelopment and the Local Authority accepted the conversion proposal.

It was determined that the building and its fabric would not be adversely affected by the proposed conversion and that the addition of another full storey on the building would in fact positively contribute to the character of the Conservation Area. We made recommendations for retention and appropriate restoration of key details in our assessment and Acceptance of Prior Determination for conversion of the building was given by Nottingham City Council.
