Ashley Almeida, Time Truck Education Officer highlights a recent trip to Northampton High School with the Time Truck to talk archaeology and heritage.

As part of a packed month of engagement, the Time Truck visited Northampton High School in June to work with local primary schools.

Over 3 days, Esther Poulus and I worked with several primary schools and carried out 2 of our most popular school workshops: Health & Diet and Skeleton Stories. Health and diet gives children a chance to understand a little of environmental archaeology and its importance to learning about individuals in the past, whilst Skeleton Stories, which was devised by one of our Senior Osteologists Michael Henderson, allows children to learn the basics of osteology; albeit in a slightly more pared down fashion!
