Geoarchaeology uses soils and sediments to understand the archaeological record. We use this at any stage of a project, however, especially when the archaeology is too deeply buried for traditional excavation. It can reveal information that will contribute towards Desk-based Assessments, planning applications and excavation strategies.
Our specialists will use auger or borehole surveys to retrieve soils and sediments under the ground. They will then analyse these discoveries, including organic material like pollen, to reconstruct past landscapes and environments.
Our comprehensive reports will also be shared with your engineers and geotechnical consultants to help you with your ongoing work.
