We identify the likelihood a site will contain burials at an early stage, and tailor excavation strategies based on this. We then assess, analyse and report on any human remains found. We’ll also guide you through the burial licence application process and work alongside exhumation contractors.
We use scientific and chemical analysis, as well as our in-house traditional and digital X-ray machines. We also work closely with universities and other scientific institutions on other forms of analyses, including aDNA, chemical isotopes, and C14.
Our experienced team work to recognised ethical and legal standards and can advise you on the requirements of cemetery and crypt excavation. We have extensive expertise in large and urban sites, having excavated and analysed some of the UK’s largest cemetery sites.
We can also work with police to identify and recover human remains. If in need of forensic archaeology support, please leave remains in situ and contact us.
