Stanton Housing Scheme archaeological excavation
Archaeological excavation for Abbey Homes at Stanton, a rural site in Suffolk, was completed in 2014.
The high level of archaeological survival was managed efficiently in close collaboration with the client.
Trial excavation carried out at an early stage had not revealed the full extent of the surviving archaeology. It was therefore crucial that in the main phase of excavation our team of archaeologists worked closely with the client to manage the archaeology efficiently. Careful discussion with all interest parties ensured that we successfully met budget and time constraints, whilst managing to record the important archaeological remains discovered at the site; consisting of a prehistoric round barrow and an Anglo-Saxon cemetery.
