MOLA Archivist Gilly Conabeer is leading the Teddington Studios oral history project. She tells us a bit about the project and how you can get involved.
Our archaeologists are undertaking a study of the former Teddington Studios, both looking at the below ground archaeological remains and the historic buildings. Alongside this field work we are also running an oral history project to capture people’s memories of the studio and to understand its significance in film and television history. The project is still in the early stages, but it’s clear that the legacy of Teddington Studios, or ‘The Fun Factory’, as it was often called by those who worked there, lies not only in the films and programmes that came from its doors but with the people who helped to create them.
