We're delighted to announce the appointment of Janet Miller as our new Chief Executive.  Janet will join us from Atkins where her current role is Director of Cities and Development and she will succeed Taryn Nixon, who after 19 years of dedicated leadership of MOLA is standing down. Taryn will join the MOLA Board to continue her contribution to our work. Janet will be joining MOLA on 4th January 2017.

Within Atkins, Janet has specific responsibility for leading the firm’s UK strategy and business growth efforts with respect to city planning, development and urban infrastructure with a particular focus on the “Future Cities” agenda. Janet also has valuable, relevant experience of forging working links and collaborations between infrastructure projects and the built environment industry, as well as with universities and think tanks. 

In addition to her responsibilities as the UK Lead Director for strategy, business development and external positioning within the Cities and Development market, Janet has served as the Director of the “Future Proofing Cities” programme while leading the Heritage business line which Atkins established in 1997.

Janet studied Archaeology and Anthropology at Cambridge University, working initially as a field archaeologist, before moving on to join Gifford and Partners working as a Senior Archaeological Consultant. She has been with Atkins for 19 years.
